CS↗CHAD SMELTZER

WHO / THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORK

People first.
Always curious.

I’m Chad Smeltzer. My work moves between the field, business, conversations, and technology. People are the connection between all of them.

WHERE IT STARTED

Learning by
doing the work.

I started working alongside my dad at 15. Being close to the work taught me to pay attention to the people doing it, the problems they face, and the details that can get missed from a distance.

That perspective stayed with me as I moved into building businesses, developing relationships, and exploring technology.

HOW I’M WIRED

A mind that
connects the dots.

ADHD is part of my story. My attention often follows patterns and possibilities across different subjects. A conversation can connect a customer’s problem to something I saw in another industry.

Christina calls me a matchmaker. I remember a person’s need and connect it with someone else’s capability. The goal is a useful introduction and a clear next step.

I call it hyper-listening: getting curious about what someone means, what they need, and what they may not have put into words yet.

Self-awareness and coaching have helped me manage my focus, organize ideas, and follow through.

BEYOND THE WORK

A life bigger
than a job title.

Faith, family, and my life with Christina are part of who I am. They belong in the story alongside the businesses and projects.

I care about relationships that last beyond a transaction, and work that helps people move forward.

I also serve as a mentor at Legacy Leaders, sharing experience and helping people think through their next steps.

FROM INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE TO BIDCUREMENT

A clearer way
to buy and sell.

My work with municipal buyers, contractors, and suppliers led me to create Bidcurement to improve procurement communication.
